Up & Coming Nashville Star Returns to Former Elementary School
Kesler De Ruyter, Bay Port High School graduate and rising Nashville country music star, returned home to Howard Elementary School to spend some time before Thanksgiving break to visit with the 4th graders. He spoke about the importance of school and working hard for what you want in life, setting goals, following your dreams, and being a good person all of the time. Two weeks ago, Kesler signed with a publishing company then flew home to sing “The National Anthem” at the Packer-Vikings game before spending some time with his family. He picked up a guitar at the age of 7, but never had any formal lessons. He has been busy writing songs for a while. Vande Hei, 4th Grade Teacher, remembers Kesler as “a quiet yet active boy with an amazing voice”. Amy Bero, Music Teacher said, “I knew he would become someone someday if he continued to sing”. We are so proud of Kesler and look forward to following him on his path to continued success! He will begin touring next year.
